Default The first 928se!

Hi, I've been doing some research on our car and it seems we have the first 928se that rolled off the production line. We have had the car 16 years and didn't even realise!!! She is alive and well and currently being used every day. I am also investigating the possibility that she was used by Tony Dron as a race car in the Porsche cup series. If anyone has any info I would be very interested! We were told that she was a press car and there are roll cage mounts welded in.

Cheers
Phill

Welcome to the Tank.
Yes, the car looks well cared for.
Had a 928se for 16 years and your first post today...I'd say your late to the fun.

Add: The pros from our Pedigree Dept. will be along shortly.
Again, Welcome.

Welcome to the 928 forum.
Car is a nice example and as the first even more interesting. 138k miles is a little high for top $ but if the Dron connection pans out that would add to the mystique.
Lacks service history.
Add about $3000 to get it to the States.
When are you going to put her up for sale?

Hi Phil,

Drop an email to Peter Booth of Motorscience in Auckland NZ.

When he did the PPI for one of my cars (about 7 years ago) he mentioned that he worked at AFN in the late 80's (they were the official GB Porsche importer) and was involved with 928 racecars. He may know something about the car Dron car or direct you somewhere towards finding out. His email address is peter@ <their domain name>

If you email him the pic Roger posted of the race car, it might encourage reminiscing.

Thanks guys, I've emailed Mr Booth so just wait and see if he replies! The car is my dads but due to ill health he does not drive any more, it is not practical for me so we will be listing her on eBay soon! however if it turns out to be Mr Drons race car maybe I'll have to rethink!
