Not a flaw, its probably a '78 (early cars have shiny metal quarter trim).

If this works: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wa...6585d47213e744

It's a link to this location in Google Maps. The 928 is visible here too, pre-spoiler.

Edited to say: Sign on the front says "Auto Electric and Diagnostic." Probably comes in handy.

Here is also a news video from few months ago, it shows a dark colored GTS in a dealership in NY. Does anyone know the dealership?

Are they discussing this sighting on the Ford Van and Taurus, Subaru Lesbacy, and Mercedes W211 forums?

Not mine; it's all matt black and factory stock.

Mine were black anodized but are now mostly silver as most of the black has worn off.

Think I'm going to try black Plasti-Dip. If I don't like it I can just peel it off.

I'm pretty sure early 78's have shiny rear quarter trim from factory. There are enough pics of early 928's with shiny rear quarter trim that its unlikely to have been modifications by owners.

Jim Doerr will likely know for sure. Might be a variation based on car colour?
