Default A Better Mouse Trap

Am I the Martha Stewart of 928 fab or what?
I picked up a piece of gutter guard screen from Lowes, and fabricated some air intake mouse guards. Cost less than $3, and took about an hour to cut out both pieces. The top and bottom edges are crimped over the inlets to hold in place.

That looks like it is original Porsche design.

Yes ! Very nicely done - looks great.

I have some of that stuff - but unfortunately it's already mounted on my gutters!

Damn it! I just threw a bunch of left over pieces of that stuff out last weekend! Had it kicking around the garage for years thinking I would eventually use it for something but finally got tired of seeing it. Oh well, it's not like I'm not at HD once a week anyway.
Good job BTW.

I have all four feet of my lift in pans of diesel and they still find their way to the air filter. I'm doing this in the morning. Thanks.

The mice that get in my air box leave their cigarette butts on top of the air filter. Nothing else, just cigarette butts.

Otis' screens look better because they are cut on the diagonal, rather than horizontal/vertical like Jan's. Both are better than what I have, which is nothing.

Take a look at your local home store for Amerimax Expandable Galvanized Gutter Strainer. Install one inside each nozzle in the fan console, secured with a wrap of Gorilla Tape so it doesn't slide back inside the plastic tube.

These expandable strainers can be adjusted easily by compressing or extending the length, like a Chinese Finger toy. Paint it black if you need it really stealthy, and plan to vacuum the butts and leaves out of the nozzles when you clean the car.
