The hatch pin switch is under the hatch receiver -the spring that pushes the hatch latch up is part of this switch. The switch is a fully visible type - once you get to it (protection plate) you can see all it's parts...
see many previous threads about hatch & alignment etc issues...

I am replacing the plastic pin switch gut for the hatch release with the gut from this pin switch. Just need to remove the brass housing, female bullet connector, and the plastic end cap to remove the pin and spring and insert the spring housing, spring, and pin backward in to the nut that housed the plastic pin. Just need to thread the end of the pin for 2 nuts, washers to hold the smaller ring terminal. I'll post pic once I get the pin threaded.
Meanwhile , I need help fixing power door lock. Both 600 mA are still good- checked with ohmmeter. The power lock is lit on dash. Passenger lock mechanism works fine , driver side won't lock from inside or outside and the connector to the actuator is disconnected- I suspect the actuator is dead that's why PO disconnect it?
Is the bad gear in the actuator could prevent the door lock from locking?
If driver side is disconnected does the circuit affect pass side(series wiring)? Where should I begin? Haven't look at the schematic yet. TIA.

OOOPs sorry but I just caught this,
the second picture in post 13 as pointed out has a melted lamp fixture .
ALSO the red power wire has to be swapped with the brn/WT wire or the fuse will blow.
THE power wire is always at the end with one connection and both grounds are at the other end.
