Default What is this - Dangling ground wire near Oil Filter

Did an oil change, Deoxit on relays and fuses and fixed bad schrader valve on Low side of AC. AC finally working!!

While under the car I noticed a dangling black wire in the vicinity of starter and oil filter. Following the wire up shows it is attached to the block.

I have no known electrical issues and have not done any work in that area for at least 2 years so I have no idea if I left it off or if it has been that way since I picked her up. There does not seem an obvious location where it could be attached.

Please advise what it's for and where it should be attached.

Almost looks like large gauge wire to starter solenoid. Though yellow, this one is insulated to the hilt. For any reason, had that original wire ever been changed and perhaps left there ??

Possibly but not by me. If the consensus is that it is a superfluous wire from some distant PO sin then I'll take it out.

Thx

Yep, engine ground wire, from the passenger side lift bracket to the passenger side coil mounting clamp bolt.

Awesome. I'll address ASAP. Odd that I have no issues at present but I will re-attach.

Left to it's own devices the engine, torque tube, and trans lump will USUALLY find A GROUND even if it has to use the radiator

Embarrassing... I read over where you said it was attached to the block.
