Windshield antenna?

My '89 has both the roof mounted antenna, and an antenna embedded in the windshield (it is the original glass in the car). Correct me if I'm wrong here, but were the windshield antenna to be functional, there would be a wire protruding from the lower right hand corner of the screen and plug into the hole where my car has a rubber plug. Correct?
Thus, the roof antenna is the default antenna, and in looking for a replacement windshield (too many 'stars' in it over 25 years), I need not bother with a antenna windshield.
Also, anyone have any sources for this glass that I can contact. I've tried the local glass installer, and they've come up empty. Not interested in the China-sourced glass given the poor reviews I've seen.
Agree?
Thanks!
Bob

Not sure if there is a question in there about the antennas?
If you have a roof antenna then the windshield antenna is not in use and is not needed on a replacement.
