Making one is easy, selling them and turning a profit is another story.
I'll bet there are more posts on Rennlist stating the belly pan is not needed vs those advocating they stay on. This explains why most 928's you find out in the wild do not have one. Mechanics remove them to gain access, figure they are a pain in the ***, leaving them off.
People ignore the fact that belly pans aid in cooing by keeping air flowing in the proper direction through the radiator.
What the 78-84 crowd really needs is an aftermarket unit that covers all the way back to the bell-housing like the S4's.

Here you go. This is from my 86.5.
It's been repainted and a tear near the alternator covering was repaired with JB Weld and strips of aluminum sardine can.
A few bumps here and there, but it should give you a good idea of what it looks like.
