If you do not mind sleeping with the dogs I have a "spare room" for Friday evening that you are welcome to use ( and there is a good Tai resturant near by ) . Saturday I may just rent a room at the hotel given the lack of humor that California has about drinking (.08 % limit) and driving . Why is it that I think there must be a "lounge" at the Marriot ?? where many issues of great importance can be discussed long into the night . This is starting to sound a lot like a "Frenzy" . Do Pacific and Atlantic sharks really behave similarily ??
Cool! I appreciate the offer. If it can get the flight I'll book a room as well.

So far John Wayne is a no go for AmAir FF Mile flights for those days. I'm going to look into LAX and find transpo south, or some low budget carriers to John Wayne.

No way we'd let a visiting dignitary like yourself flounder around in shuttle buses! Say the word and I'll pick you up from the airport of your choice and deliver you to Jim B.'s dog house...in a 928. You can even sit on one of your old seats on the way in. :-)

Dignitary? You must have me confused with someone else. Freeking AA. No Frequent Flier Seats available from here to LA on the days I want. Friday through Sunday is a high dollar ticket on any airline. I'm going to have to get creative.

How are those Old Bugger seats holding up? Now if I can find the time to install the upgrade seats I have and get rid of the ones taking up space. The 4 sets I have sitting around is just taking up too much space.

FYI..ive used Supershuttle (internet search) to get from LAX to SNA a few times..they do airport to "door service" as well. Im sure if one of us are in the area we'd be happy to come get you....

Try looking into ONTARIO for your freq miles??

Look at JetBlue service into Long Beach. IIRC, one of their other-ends is BWI. AA also goes into Long Beach, but I think that's only through DFW. Worth a look!

Burbank is close to my house in Glendale, and is about as close (time-wise) to Anaheim as LAX usually is on a Friday evening.

Others flying in should note that traffic between LAX and the Anaheim area bogs from about 4PM on Friday afternoons. Ontario is a great choice since the drive to Anaheim is opposite the commute traffic in the evening.

Ontario did the trick. I leave a bit earlier than I wanted, and have to make two connections, but it gets me there @ 9:17PM on the 17th. Bingo! Thanks for the tip Tony.

It never fails. I had to actually talk to a human being to lock in my ticket. So I asked them If there was any way possible to get me into John Wayne instead of Ontario. Bingo again! The internet is convenient, but it pays to talk to a human to make travel plans every time.

The on-line registration form is now up. If you're making plans to attend, please use the registration form to tell us you're coming. Some of you may also get a mailing in the coming weeks with a paper registration form to fax in. I've edited the first post in this thread to include the link information.

And as always, the latest event information is being posted here:

The event planning is shaping up nicely. We hope to see many of you there!

Pong!
I thought I'd give you Rennlist webbers the heads up on this:

The supply of event T-shirts will be limited, so we will give them out on a First-to-Register, First-to-Get-Shirt basis. So it's in your interest to register sooner rather than procrastinate (but you still need to attend to pick it up :-)

The event logo which will appear on the back of the shirts (and everything else we can stick it to) has been finalized and looks like so:

Folks,
It has come to my attention that our on-line registration form, while slick, may not be 100% perfect. Some have used the form to register, but for whatever reason, their information did not come through.

We have sent out an e-mail to all registrants recorded thus far. If you believe you registered, but did not receive any e-mail, we don't have your information and you still need to register. Please go and hit the form again.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: Make sure you receive the "success" page that follows a successful registration and not an error message or 404 Not Found, etc. If you do get such a message in your browser, hit the back button and click the submit button again.

Thanks. I apologize for any inconvenience.
