Another option to a worn clutch is that the screw that you remove to fit the manual sunroof tool may be a bit loose causing decreased resistance on the motor when the roof is fully open or shut.
Try tightening that and see if it helps. (My one needs to be quite tight to stop the motor quickly).

Mine runs for a couple seconds after fully open - I just hit the switch again to stop it.

It stops immediately upon closing.

Is there an adjustment of some kind that I need to make to a motor shutoff switch of some kind? Or, is this normal?
Normal. Mine works exactly the same way.

Mine does this too. Out of habit I tap the switch when it's full open to make the motor stop. IIRC, it's one-touch to full open but you hold the switch down to close.

Yes, there is no one-touch close--just like the windows. Does anybody know if the clutch is serviceable/replaceable separate from motor?

Late ROW models (with the relay window controller - so '90 & up) also have one-touch close for the drivers window only. Any late model with the relay window controller can be configured to do this. It also enables the windows whenever the doors are open regardless of key (both are nice additions).

Just unplug the single pole connector on the Black & Black/Yellow wires on the window controller under the drivers seat. NB There are 2 single pole connectors (the other disables the sunroof).

As with most things - the ROW configuration is just better...

Not sure if the North American cars have the function where you can simply use the key in the door to close the windows and sunroof by holding in the locking position. I often jump out forgetting to close the roof and like using this feature. I'm sure its also a relay modification?

On the one-touch close option can you easily stop the window by tapping the switch again? In our climate the only time I ever close the windows completely is if there's a chance of rain, otherwise it gets much too hot inside the car ... and I won't even mention a 928 AC's ability to cool down the inside of the car after a hot soak in the sun ;-)

Perhaps that's why Porsche gave priority to opening ...

yes you can always cancel it - press again either way.

In Phoenix opening the windows in the summer rarely makes it cooler.

USA cars do have this feature - this one is not regionally enabled.

BTW not many realize that it works from the hatch too... and if you install a KE the right way you can even do it remotely
