Question for the gurus on sliding the trans. As suggested, I slid mine back to pull the engine. Now that the engine is back in, I'm trying to slide the trans forward, but am about a 1/4-inch short on having the bell housings join. I can see the trans bolt holes, and they are sitting just a bit too far back, so I know its the trans and not the engine.
Any tips on how to move the trans that last bit...does it hang up on something, do I need to lift the trans to clear something?
Thanks - Dave

Jack it up an inch from the differential, use legs to move it forward.

Got it, thanks gents. Now off to deal with the top driver side bell housing bolt. No way my hand is getting in there without something coming out.
My Trans mounts look pretty decent. I doubt they have been changed, but there is plenty of clearance it seems. Lucky, since I'm not sure I could aford them...don't they double on price every year?
