Default Where does this wire belong?

Hello,

Hopefully you can help me. I was doing 'maintaince' recently and found this black wire is broke off from something. I traced it back to the alternator and think maybe it's a ground? Where should this wire connect to?

I painted it green in this pic I attached.

My alternator is skittish now and not happy until I fix this.

1983 5 speed.

What type connector is on the loose end of it?

What is the other end attached to?

Just a sec. I'll take more pics.

I'm pretty sure this black wire starts off this bigger one. It feeds up outside this large plastic tube of wires next to the drivers side TB cover. Then it came out were the distributor cap is. It must have grounded or something to to something after it comes out under the distrubutor cap area.

If (note that "IF") it is factory 928 wire, it probably isn't a ground. Ground wires on the 928 are brown. Black may be power or something else.
