Love your wheels. That's what I want but can't find it, mostly they're from Boxster so not ideal.

Suggestion: Dump those original 928 wheel locks for either a later set that won't strandyou, or none at all. There are a few horror stories from folks who have had to cut those off.

The one lug that is different is hollow in there, is that a converted old lug lock or something? I thought it was a lightweight lug to offset the side of the wheel with the tire stem hole.

These are off of a Carrera 4, and they are 11" wide rears, 8" wide fronts. I think they were called sport wheels for the 911.

It's the inner part of the original locking lognut. There is a thin outer sleeve that fits over that, with a keylock in the end.

I think all my lugs are hardened aluminum, magnesium or titanium, they feel very light compared to steel ones, is that OE equipment on the 928?

I think the standard lug nuts are aluminum.

Standard fitm, ent is the aluminum lug nuts. The locking one is weaker since it's kind of hollow. No worries so long as you Brutus at the tire store doesn't zip them on too tight. It will break off when you try to remove it if seriously overtightened. That immediately preceeds the cryng, screaming, and sometimes even some bad language. Why subject your family and neighbors to language like that? Put a regular aluminum nut there or get the later improved locks.

I think I found a used 996 locknut set on ebay for $50. They fit perfectly, and look factory. The tool is a special socket that fits in your 19mm lug nut wrench.
I don't know why I bothered. I have not heard of wheel theft near me. I just wanted to be careful
Good luck,
Dave

I bought a set similar to the ones you describe from Devek way back when, genuine Porsche pieces with a 930 part number. Added over 30 wheel horsepower but only under boost... We don't genarlly have wheel theft issues, but why tempt fate? Just my luck that someone would grab the wheels just to get the center caps to put on their Rabbit wheels or something. $33 in cheap insurance at the time.
