Default R-134a @ $6.50/can

Check JB's post #7 - he found it for $3.90/can!

For those of you in the USA and with access to the "Big Lots" chain of discount store - they have American-made/American/packed R-134a refrigerant for $6.50 per 12-ounce can. That is less than half of the usual selling price at the auto parts chains. They will sell it to you in quantities - I just bought a 12-can case, and could have bought more.

This is the pure refrigerant - no sealant, no dye, no mouse milk...

Just for curiosity - how much does it cost our non-USA folks?

Why not a 30lb jug? Not much more, WAY cheaper by the oz.

We are not allowed to buy it here (unless one is a licensed installer). We also can't buy a ductless A/C system, despite the fact that they come pre-charged and are easy to install. With a system like this you can imagine the pricing by companies that know that consumers cannot buy the materials themselves.

Amazon is a bit cheaper (plus no tax in most states) at $3.90 a can but you need to buy a case of 12,
