Default My 1987 S4 Murf stage III install

Prior to getting my transmission sorted I had planned on getting a supercharger. The opportunity presented itself to purchase a used kit from Murf and I jumped on it. Other than basic maintenance and the WP/TB I haven't done alot of work on these cars.
Well all of that has changed It has been a significant amount of work but I am close to having Supercharger done.

I still have some hoses to trim, I need to add a vacuum line to the blowoff valve and install the super cooler and plumbing.

I'm hoping to have this done by the weekend. fingers crossed

Looking good. How much time do you have invested in the install?

At this point I would say around 25 hrs. Much of this was figuring out how to take things off. Two hours trying to figure out how to put a bolt on the supercharger bracket..LOL. I am going to help Tim revise his instructions
He has been EXTREMELY responsive and pleasant to work with. I feel bad bugging him about things but sometimes I had no other option.

You're gonna need some wider back tires

I don't think I can fit anything larger than a 255 on my rims.... damn Boxster wheels.

It's ALIVE!!! I got everything together yesterday and fired it up. The car immediately fell to idle just like it had before. You can definitely hear that vortex sound.
There was a slight clearance issue (my fault) with the intercooler being too close to the fuel rail. Easily resolved
All that's left is to get the charcoal canister in right so I can get the wheel liner back in.
If the rain stops I'll take it for a drive this afternoon.

On the first drive I ended up overheating the engine. Had the cooling fans reversed.
Test 2 was amazing! The acceleration kept building and I let off because I was already doing 100 before I knew it.
Idle is perfect and runs great around town. Very pleased

Congrats! Those MURF Superchargers will throw you back on your seat, and they sound like something that escaped from hell!

So....I need a refresher- do you run larger injectors? Does it come with a reflashed computer, or is it full standalone? Did you have to dial in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

The Murf928 kits on 1985+ cars come with 42lb injectors and custom chips.

The early kits (pre shark-tuner) had boost activated fuel pressure regulators.

It's a 100% bolt on and go kit.

So not to derail- but there is a Murf solution to mounting the kit on 85/86?

Hmm...sell one to supercharge the other....naw, it'd have to be a twin screw and deliver 100HP..
Does seem the Murf kits are the shnizzle, I look forward to hearing this one running!
;-)
