Hi all
I have installed a new sealing ring but i fear i have it seated too far in.I am hesitant to try and pull it back out flush for fear of damaging it, but if there is potential for trouble then i will do so and order another if i damage it.
What is the correct thing to do here?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

So i managed to pull it back out flush without damage...so all good...but i would like to know anyway(and maybe someone else might face this), what might have been the outcome if left where i originally had it seated.
Thanks All.

Supplemental question...seems like i should have a washer between the sealing ring and the woodruff key, but i did not remove the woodruff key so unless the washer was notched it could not have come off.Is it possible that it is missing?
PET does not show a washer in this location, but in the write up from Douglas it looks like there is one(although he makes no mention of it)
Yea i know, im PARANOID!
Thanks,

the seal will be fine seated where it is or a bit deeper into the bore.
The 1MM spacer washer was used for the rear side of the aluminum gear.
it gets removed/ deleted when a steel gear is fitted ,
Note the spacer is not notched.
I suggest to use Dow Corning 111 on the pump O rings,
this will keep them soft longer than oil will.
Also I suggest to use STP oil treatment to refill the tensioner,
and use Hondabond 4 on the tensioner gasket
