It looks like the same one fitted to my 1980, 928 S rear fender.., and as mine is original I,d guess it,s the type that were fitted on all from the start of production to the final cars before the S4 which had the roof aerial.

Looks like the standard power antenna fitted 78 to 86 and some 87/88 cars in Australia.

They have not changed that much apart from a plastic case and the price is more like $65 today.

The "replacement" plastic case will work but it really does not fit....comes with the plumbers strap multi holed metal strip to adapt....close but no cigar It will function which is a good thing.

So Jim what is your solution as I have fitted a number of the "Plastic" versions with total success.
IIRC I bought the last real one from you for my Weissach a number of years ago 8>)

it works so that solves the problem ...... but it is far from the original not that I care much about such things And the original part has been NLA for years.

It is an F series 6000,a quite rare hirschmann...bear in mind that every MercedesBenz and BMW from 1973ca to 198x used a power antenna like that, if you're searching for a spare one. Then my and BMW moved to a plastic case 6000u... It is a bit more reliable and they saved weight, the 6000f is very heavy... If you find a 6000d series (unfindable) you will find it weighs about 13 lbs.
