I have an 82 with the 722.005 automatic transmission and I can't find a service manual to rebuild the trani. ATSG does not have these earlier manuals and my Porsche Service manuals or functional operations manuals do not go into the details needed. Can anyone point me in a direction where I can find one?

I put a brand new (literally) trans built in 89 in my car. My laptop died with my files, so I can't directly attach what I have. Go to my long threads on my trans job. I'm certain they're linked there, by the fellow who gave them to me. They're very detailed for the MB unit. I hope they will be useful for you. Best wishes.

I haven't ever found a 722.0 service manual.. the later ones are fairly easy to find (722.3).

However, the 722.0 uses the same overhaul kit as the 722.1, and there's an excellent DIY writeup of the 722.1 rebuild here:
