Default 245x45x16???

I need new tires the fit my D90's. It appears that Bridgestone
Potenza is the only (street) tire on the market. Is this true?
Am I looking at new wheels soon?

Check tirerack.com. Someone on here a few weeks ago found the Potenzas in the proper size. They seem to be back in production again.

It appears that Potenza is the only tire made this size so there really is no choice.

The Continental Sportcontact N1 seems to be available also.

I'm quite sure only the RE-11 (Bridgestone) is available in North America for street tires.
Tire Rack and Costco have them.

Toyo Proxes T1R

I have them on my '87.. look to be available on the USA (tirerack don't sell Toyo). Correct speed rating too, for $440 plus shipping for front/rear.

Or you can search here and find the Bridgeston potenza's apparently still available: (but I don't like the speed rating on them- even tho' its unlikely I'll drive my car up to an unrestricted road in the far north of Oz)

Yes tire rack had them a couple months back. They won't show up if you search by car model as they are only rated for 150 mph. Give them a call.

Good info on the Toyos Hilton. How do you like them? Noisy? I have been happy with the RE11s but would like to get a Z-rated tire.

Good question regarding noise level.

I like the toyo's - excellent grip and not noisy (yet - only got about 2000 kms on them). They're less noisy than the Dunlop Sport 9000 I've got on my 17" GTS rims on the other car, which have a similar looking v-shaped tread.

Other locals who've had Fuzions said the Toyos were much quieter.

Since we are talking noise. I'm finding the RE-11's much louder than the conti extreme contacts I had on my S3.

But then I had 17's on the S3 so better tire choices.

I've gone through several sets of RE-11's and they are great tires - really sticky, but they tend to get pretty "square" if you don't drive on them for a couple of days.
