Default Update

After removing the ABS relay I have driven the car for about 100 miles. The brake pad warning light comes on frequently now, but there have been no further occurrences of the "jerk" at a full stop. I am pretty sure this eliminates the suspension and mechanical brakes as a problem, so my next step will be to carefully examine the wheel well wiring for the brake pad and ABS sensors, and repair where needed. Then I will drive the car again, first with ABS disabled (no relay) to make sure I have corrected the false brake pad warning, then with ABS enabled. If the problem recurs, then it must be in other parts of the system, not in the sensor wiring.

Sound logical so far?

Absolutely! I need a can of that stuff and I'm picking some up at a music store Monday- my John Deere contact cleaner (don't laugh, JD is good stuff) doesn't cut it for this.
