My 82 seems to be running a little rich… the exhaust seems to smell a bit. Is there any way to adjust?

Sure... But that means reprogramming the ECU.

I'd replace the Oxygen sensor and see if that clears it up. While the hood is up, replace the spark plugs *use stock, cheap copper plugs) and see if those show rich running. It'll probably run better and you'll have checked off some possible problems.

You need to do a proper tune up. However, there is a way to adjust. But it's most likely that your barn door is out of adjustment.
