Speakergrills
The PO decided to improve the sound of his audio by fitting bigger aftermarket speakers over the original perforated upholstery, meanwhile destroying the original looks beyond repair. The easy way to go is to keep it's molested look, but it just isn't acceptable to me. The next easiest thing to do is to go the money-route and have it re-upholstered. But to me, priority goal is to get it on the road first, so the technical stuff. This includes protection against the elements, so rustproofing it counts as well. Paint comes second, so this puts the interior third on the list of money to be spent.
This resulted in a trial to make acceptable speakergrills that cover the perforation of the original upholstery.
I first made the shape of the perforated upholstery from MDF 6 mm. I cut holes in them for the speakers and covered them in black speakercloth. I'm not sure if I like it. It would have been much better if the cloth was in green like the underside of the door, but that material may be impossible to find.

Not to bad... acceptable repair
BTW, Green vinyl similar to the vinyl on the door is not impossible to find. However, finding exactly the same shade and nuance might be a bit more difficult... have you checked with a local upholstery? maybe they have some leftovers in stock...
