I have 1. 1983 US model 5 speed.
I sold a part that I couldn't use several years ago to a gentleman who said he owned 9 928s. The most cars I have owned at one time in my life was 4, which to me was a real challenge to keep a handle on (I'm a mechanic by trade). I asked him with some amazement "How do you keep track of the maintenance on 9 different 928s?" His answer..."well, none of them run..." I guess that makes it easy...

1987 928S4, red, auto, not sure on the specifics of options, etc.
Car was purchased originally by a gentleman in Corpus Christi TX by the name of George Conde(#1). It was sold by him to another gentleman in CC named Jose Manuel Mendoza(#2) in 2002. From this point the chain of ownership gets blurry. I purchased in from a wholesaler(#4) in Chattanooga who had recently (within the previous few days of my purchase) purchased it from a gentleman(#3) who had owned it for several years(also in the Chatt area). Because he(#3) is a registered dealer, he never had to plate or register the car. I have met him and dealt with him on the phone several times since I purchased the car, and he informed me that he picked it up at an auto auction. This is where the issue lies. The title was signed by Mr. Mendoza as the seller, no date, no amount, no purchaser's name, etc. Now, in order to title the car in IN, I need a bill of sale. I know it is a long shot, but I would like to try to find Mr. Mendoza and approach him about filling out said BOS. I know it is a loooooong shot but, I figure, why not try.
Any suggestions?

Ah, since you have no idea what the P O signature looks like and neither does anyone at the DMV office perhaps you might "find" the missing bill of sale hidden under the spare tire.....But more to the point the person who sold you the car is responsible for giving you a clear transferable title ESPECIALLY if they are a state regulated dealer....that is why they are licensed, bonded, and regulated !
