I'd just slam the hood down to figure my 'cuttin' spot.
Bulge is a better look than scoop for an exotic imo. (please no creepy jokes)
If you have a spare front fender flip it 90 degrees and you can see how a hood bump out could be made to just cover that intake.
Use 3M 2-part auto body epoxy, it's stronger than weld.

Slam the hood! I love it. I like the fender idea also. I can't picture it though. I do have a fender and some fancy glue. If you would, Please splain the fender idea in more detail . Maybe a picture with circles and arrows. Thanks

I think you have some Buckey in you... and that's a good thing!

But the way i am showing could have an interesting shape..You'd have to actually start cutting a fender to find out.
Can't wait for the video of it running.
When it's all sorted, I hope you take the time to
customize the body (maybe a integrated metal rear spoiler)
but S4 style spoiler would be nice and you'd know it's right.
and Paint your car a great green metallic color
like a piranha fish. You deserve it!

Fixer, Thanks for the drawings. Im gonna give it a shot. No paint for a while. I wrapped the car 2 years ago. [ still on spousal radar ]. I like the idea of a custom hood badge. Any idea who makes them?
Imo000, The Rx scoop wasn't wide enough. Thanks

Once you start cutting you'll find a better way than i imagined, maybe you'll
flip it 180 or whatever. Drawings are just Kleenex tissue once you begin
actually working with your hands as you well now Dinsdale.
I saw a great new Corvette color which made me think about your project
for some reason. It's a dark metallic green, really nice for green and different
Is there any way you could do 4 exhaust tips for that big V12 like a new Vette?
Re Badge:
I always watch what i spend too. (due to making it as a self employed person
like you which has its ups and downs)
I was just thinking a custom exterior vinyl hood badge for now like the Porsche race cars wear.
I would guess a custom hood badge would be expensive unless you could grind down a Porsche
badge and paint in new graphics and fire it yourself..
Or a comb of both of the above. Grind and smooth out the pot metal Porsche badge and apply a
high quality vinyl graphic. You can clear it too with automotive clear coat, so it last forever.
But vinyl would only cost a few dollars if you can design it in Adobe something or other.
Whatever you are re powering or building, you should start signing your work.
Like the flying eyeball guy..
You truly have skills Dinsdale.

That's quite a wide cutout for the scoop, instead of fitting a scoop, why not look and find a car with a whole hood, reasonably flat, that has a bump that will cover, and re-skin your whole hood one piece?
a lot of factory hoods are made aftermarket in fibre glass and Kevlar a one piece that has a bump/scoop will look better than a stick on.
As you would only need to use the skin, it can be rotated 180 if you need height at the other end.
example,This is a local Ford hood that I worked out would fit the bill when I was needing a little bit of extra height to clear the throttle body on my Lexus transplant
Russ.
