Default 8 928's on Houston CL

There's an unusually high number of 928s listed in Houston CL right now, so I thought I'd share for anyone looking. Some are junk of course, and some way overpriced (like the track car I used to own), but there are some decent deals as well.

7 actually, the hideous hoodscoop and destroyed can-can red leather 82 that may have a nice exhaust has two ads - one for part-out.

This may be the aqua green one:

Been watching the track S4, it was up for $5k unfinished awhile back.

And the mint-ish blue '80 is actually in San Antonio, price has been firm for months.

I bought the track car last year off CL and didn't really do anything to it. I had it listed for 6k for a while, then 5500. It sold a couple of months ago. The new owner put racing seats and belts in it, and probably fixed the brakes and got it inspected so it's street legal, sortof... Still has track tires. Paint is very rough and the aluminum motor mounts make it a beast to drive on the street. It's also louder than I would want on the street. I think it will be on CL a long time at that price.

Blue one in SugarLand is mildly interesting. I have a strong, strong preference for black on black though.

LMAO, that '88 "track S4" used to be a DFW car. I took cash to the guy a couple years back as he was asking really low money and figured I could save it. No flipping way. I looked at him after looking at the car and said I was sorry, he'd have to pay me to take it off his hands.

His asking price was $1500.00. Looks like someone one bought it and gave Carl an assload of money not knowing what they were doing. Good for Carl I suppose.

Sean,

I don't think it's the same car you are thinking of. The silver 88 track car was owned by a guy near the Woodlands for many years. I think he bought it in the mid 90's. He got into autocross and had a company called Fasttrack convert it to a track car. He spent about 5k with Carl. He has a lot of toys and decided to get out of autocrossing after a couple of years when Fastrack started talking about doing a reality TV show and he didn't want any part of it. I bought it for 2800 (with all the removed parts), sold it late last year for 4800. It's a decent car, but most folks want a stick for tracking.

I stand corrected.

Thank you for the background. Think I'll pass even if the price drops.
