Ended up taking to local shop here in Raleigh, NC.
They pulled aluminum housing as you suggested above, replaced the o-ring and seal, as well as the seal for the selector shaft at the top of the transmission.
$155 labor and parts (I supplied the o-ring and input seal).
All in all - not a bad price for a lot of peace of mind.
Transmission bolted up. Ready to bleed PSD and then bolt everything else back on and take it for alignment!
