As far I know the hands are just white, not faded.

Well, except for the orange paint on the hands being extremely faded.
Actually new from the factory clocks have white hands not orange or red. But what do you expect for $508 8>).

They certainly we're not white when our cars came off of the production line.

Next time I buy a new one I will check the production date. Maybe they fade with age on the car or off the car. So if the new ones were made circa early 90's that would answer why they are white. At $508 I have not sold any for over a year now. Sell plenty of used ones and they are mostly white and my good friend Jim M paints them red.

I should note that only the underside of the hands were orange - the sides and tops of the hands were clear. This had to do with how they are illuminated at night.
