transmission leak when car is on
Hi, I noticed my rebuilt transmission had a leak in it. I got it rebuilt a few months ago and don't drive it often due to the weather. I probably drove it less than 300 miles in the last couple months. Anyways the other day I drove it and noticed a few drops when I was parking it. So I moved it into another parking spot. No drops overnight. Then I turned it on and did not drive it. It started leaking a stream of fluid. I called the rebuilder and he asked a few questions and said he will have someone tow it this weekend to his shop. Is it normal for this car to leak fluid after a rebuild? I read somewhere that it could be leaking because it was low of fluid.

would not leak due to being low on fluid, however a leak will make it be low on fluid, could just be a lose hose fitting/ drain plug etc..
edit: if over filled it would also leak from reservoir

FWIW- I had a small leak appear after operation on my 84 928S by my AT (car parked after driving). The seller and his mechanic had told me it would need tranny fluid ever now and then- so looking in to that leak is already on my to do list.
However, after one or two more runs at idle with car not moving anywhere, it turns out the resulting stain is actually a mix of transmission fluid and fuel! (Two sources into one stain!) A closer look underneath seems to indicate a leak on the tank bottom, but the harness is blocking the view. Will know more this week after I take it in as fixing or replacing the tank isn't something I have the physical capacity for at the moment.
Hope yours is just the transmission!

im sure its only transmission fluid. i probably have driven it less than 250 miles since the rebuild. Most of the miles was driving it back from the rebuilder. If the tranmission line was the problem wouldnt he have been able to spot it? i think this car is cursed by the indian chief who originally bought it
