Default Really nice low mile 84 928 AT for sale

Hi,

A business aquantance came by with one of the nicest 928's I've seen. It's an 84 AT Red, no issues, has seat covers, seats are perfect, dash no cracks, inlays, paint is great, has receipts far back, has cargo net, cover. low 43K miles....

Looks pretty close to concours to me....

Asking $10,500 -

If interested call Scotts RV in Atascadero, Calif and ask for Scott. He was on his way to consign it locally. It's a great deal for someone looking to get into a 928 with no issues.

I have no affilation other than he asked if I was interested in buying I am, however staying married is my priority right now.

Very nice looking! I am on the wrong coast though. Not sure what shipping might be to the Mid Atlantic.

Very nice. But I thought they ditched the peforated speaker doors in US 84 version for the dual speaker setup (euro still had it till 85 if i recall)?

Speaker perfs are correct for 84. 85 was a big design change, including the move to the 32 valve and different speaker grills on the exterior of the door rather han behind the perforation.

Default 84 speaker grills

Ed, I think the external speaker grills must've been optional on an '84 (Is that what M490 is?). Whatever the case, mine has them.

Beautiful....but my eye did catch something. The integrated door gutter strip on the drivers door A pillar appears to be pulled (rolled) outward. Never seen that on a 928 before. Probably easy to replace with a repainted used part.

Que the Eagles: "It never rains in southern california . . . " is why he spends money on the interior, but doesn't need a cover for the jump post.

Nice looking. Technically, I don't think cloth seats no matter how new, would qualify it as concours. It was painted right?

Cloth seats? Those are neoprene seat covers. Covering the original like new seats. Technically, did I not say that in my original post? Yes, the car is painted.

interesting. My 84 had the perfs, and I haven't seen an 84 with grilles. Wonder if it was an option or if your door cards were switched over at some point to accomodate the newer style? Someone should know (Chris/Landseer is an 84 expert, maybe he will chime in). I wonder if the hi fi sound system includes door speakers with the grilles?

My '83 has the grilles. It seems that in '83 and 84, some of the cars came with the perfs and some came with the grilles.... not sure how this was handled at the factory.
