Thanks Andy and Jim!

Just sold a kit to a fella from Honk Kong. Pretty neat!

Will this work with any pre '87 seats?

For a 928, no, sorry. A bracket for 85-86 928 is in the works, once I can get my hands on an 85-86 seat.

For other Porsches of similar vintage, possibly. Would need a pic of under the seat to know for sure.

Thanks for inquiring!

Does this replace the black plastic cover at the front? Or is there any way to trim the cover around the bracket?

Not real clear on your site as to what I need.

Do I need to buy both the bracket and the quick-release mount?

Says 'up to mid-90s cars' - does this fit the GTS? Why not call out specific model years it fits?

Hi Alan,
It looks doable but I haven't tried it (my '87 S4 is away from me in Michigan)

Bob Voskian (voskian on RL) mentioned he was going to give it a try. Might be worth checking in with him.

Hi Randy,
You may buy both, but you don't need to. However, the bracket and mount were designed to work very well together. And the Safecraft QR is a great product!

Like it reads on my website:
This bracket was designed to fit the Safecraft quick-release mount (shown below), however others may be fitted at your own discretion.

And this is why I offer them for sale separately, for if you choose to use a different mount with the seat bracket.

Actually, it reads on my website:
Fits most ca. late-80’s thru mid-90’s Porsche power seats (87-later Porsche 928)

So yes, it fits '87 thru '95 GTS.

The reason I don't list other Porsche models is because I haven't tested all/other applications.

Great questions all around. I hope this helps. Thanks!

Alan, i haven't tried fitting the plastic cover yet. It will have to be cut and shaped if it is going to fit. The set up looks quite "factory" without it so I haven't gotten around to fiddling with it yet.

Jim do you know of anyone planning to mount a Brey-Krause R-9520 Quick Release Mount to this? - I see no reason it wouldn't work from the configuration - I have one on a custom mount bracket right there - with similar vertical mounting plate.

Its a very spendy item - but probably the ultimate in QR convenience & with the handle underneath a very smooth look - possibly keeps the extinguisher a bit closer to the seat (I'll have to compare more closely...)

Have you also considered a rear of the front pass seat mount plate? I have a second bracket & BK mount there so I can mount the extinguisher in either location.

On long trips with a passenger (wife) - I put it on the back mount - reachable but a little less convenient - normally it lives in the front - quite OK for short trips.

I've found this keeps the noise level on the passenger side down...

I'd looked into the BK mount, and your right it is the best. I chose not to use it due to it's high cost.
Appears it could work with my seat bracket. One would just need to drill a new hole pattern for it.

If you would like to try out your BK mount with my bracket, I could send you an extra from the prototype run.

Let me know, thanks!

Hi Jim,

today I tried to mount the bracket to my '91 sport seat but I didn't get the bracket under the seat in position.
Do I have to lift the seat cushion to slide the bracket in its position?

Thommy,
Yes, lift the seat all the way up. Gives plenty of room to slide it in.
