Default 80 Automatic - Brake Switch Question

Gents:

Does it matter whick wire is connected to the three male ends on the brake switch? Hoping that I can just connect the three in no particular pattern. I pulled the rubber boot off of the front brake switch (looks newer) and one of the three was not connected.

Thank you,

Jason

What color are the wires?
I would match them up as I think it does matter as this is one of the two brake switches located on the Master cylinder and they work together on your MY80 correct?

In mine the rubber boot holds the leads in a pattern that dictates how they connect to the switch. The wiring diags should show which colours go where ...I hope. They are set up so that if one doesnt work it provides power to the light controller to bring up the brake pressure warning.

Yes, it matters which wire goes where.

Black - 82a - Power from Fuse 10
Blue/Brown - 81a - To Warning Computer
Black/Red - 81 - To Lamp Control, then Brake Lights

The brake light signal wire black/red ONLY goes to one of the two switches as I recall.

Thanks everyone for the assistance. I installed new front brake switch and all works as should now. And even though it was only 40 degrees here today, I managed to get some sunburn on my face. Winning.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
