S4 Fan Shroud Best Way to Remove?
#16
I broke the shroud trying to get it our of there

Outline is:
- Undo the fan harness clamps and pull the wires out over the front right fender
- Snip the cable tie on the lower rad hose
- Undo the airpump feed hose from the base of the filter housing on the rad shroud.
- Remove top two 10mm hex-screws holding shroud to radiator.
- Loosen the strap around the PS reservoir (6 or 7mm socket depending on strap) to gain some wiggle room.
- Lift the fan shroud slightly and lean it away from you to get two wrenches on the upper oil cooler fitting (32mm wrench and 27mm to counter hold).
- Undo top oil cooler fitting and tuck the loose end outboard of the radiator
- Pull the shroud towards you again, and lift it upwards, and to the right, while pulling the top rad hose away from the shroud a bit to make space.
Or course, if you have an auto cooler in the radiator, then haa haa! that might make it a bit tricker. I've never pulled the shroud on an auto.
