Default 16V breather differences

Learned something interesting this weekend at Thunderhill!!! My 1979 had a factory 1979 oil breather-seperator....then I looked at one from a 1984, VERY different. The 1979 was much shorter and had a tight restrictor so very little airflow-pressure could get out. The 84 was much taller and didn't have a restrictor at all.....

Guess which one I put on the 5.0 engine?

Very good,

My US '83 (same as US '84) had the short fill lid with the small restrictor,

i think the '79 unit is the taller one and without the restrictor.. either way good to know.

BTW Iceman,

i found a 1" Silicone 90 elbow hose in the Pegasus racing equipment catalog that
could flip the filter/separator 90 degrees to work better for you. Silicone hose is good to almost 375F.
It's dimensions are 4"x4" 90 but it could be trimmed to suit our application, not sure there
is hood clearance though.

Good luck with your 5.0L Iceman.
