Be cautious of those billet fuel rails. They look like the ones I tossed due to the O-ring seats not machined to tolerance and had a couple injectors blow out during initial fire-up. The factory rails have clips that prevent injector blowout.

Default Update

The rails bolt to the intake which keeps them from blowing off. Got the lowers mounts done tonight. Shocks will be here Wednesday

Coilovers in, axles came in today. Next step is mounting fuel tank and battery. Then on to wiring and interior.

Update, it's been well over a year since I've had a chance to get back on this thing. (this is hot rod #3 on the priority list, the other 2 are "finished", whatever that means)
Everything is pretty well done mechanically except for brake lines and rear caliper mounts.
Working on redoing the interior now. Put in new headliner and redoing the interior which is actually in much better shape than I thought it was. Hope to have it wrapped up and running by spring

Awesome job Danny!!! I have always loved your blue monster, and now I'm drooling over this one. Any idea on expected power level?

Thanks Chris, Shooting for 500+ at the wheels. I'm planning on this being my daily driver (mostly)

Well, I'm a little over 3 years in on this deal and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Finally finished up brake caliper mounts, brake lines, and repaired the dash. Tested the vacuum lines on the AC last night and no leaks, so that's good. After talking with Scott at Renegade Hybrids, I've decided to install a rollbar to stiffen things up since I removed the torque tube. Time to get the tubing bender out and fire up the welder. The car is ready to start, but I'm waiting until the interior is finished. Otherwise, I'll just drive it as is and never finish the inside!! Now shooting for the end of summer

One more thing, after talking to Wilwood, they recommended a 1" master cylinder. the factory is 15/16 so keeping fingers crossed on that.

Hadn't seen this thread until now. Jaw-dropping!! Complete engine and transmission transplant along with suspension, brakes and what must be a million details... for under 10K to boot... And you just churn it out and make it look easy. Amazing!!!

Default budget

Yeah, well I blew past the $10k budget awhile back. I decided to build it nicer than I first intended since I plan on it being my daily driver. Embarrased to say I'm at $17k now

Stunning! Do you have a rough estimate of what was spent where? For example, how much is just the engine conversion if someone wanted to dive into it?
