RE:POWER WINDOW SWITCHES
The switches "snap" into the metal plated that is part of the Armrest/console, the spring clips are located on the front and rear facing edges. Kind of hard to get a small screw driver in there to access the spring clips from the top as the plastic (rocking) switch over hangs the switch body.
You can get to the back of the switches by removing the Armrest, the side carpets and unscrewing the rear console mountings tabs. That should make it easier to remove w/o breaking them.
Note: you only need to depress one end, not both.
I've see people just pop them out too, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you are just going to replace w/ known good or new ones. If that's the case pop off the plastic rocking top and pry out the switch. Either way the side carpets and console rear tabs need to be removed.

If you are just trying to clean the internal contacts, the top rocker piece will pop off with a small screwdriver. I was able to get all mine working by doing this and sanding all the contact points.
So somewhat of a sidejack but while we're on this, I recently installed an aftermarket "URO" switch. I'm getting feedback through the radio now...could be that I bumped a not-too-great connection, but I'm wondering if the aftermarket switches might not be shielded as well? It is odd, they seem to range from $9.99 (ebay) to $119.99 or so depending on where you look...I bought through one of our suppliers, staunch the flames.
The stock switches aren't shielded either so I'd say that isn't the source of your issue... (you may have just rearranged something else in the console...).
On the later window controller ('90 & up) these switches don't see much current so should last well - on earlier cars up to 89 these see the full motor current so will wear out faster... I wouldn't even recommend using the later Porsche switches (the ones that click) on an earlier car - they really aren't designed for the higher current. They will work - but will likely degrade faster.
