Talking -22c GTS sleeps while Canada wins GOLD

At 4:30am this morning I looked in the unheated garage to say good morning to the sleeping GTS then watched the mens Olympic hockey final.

The GTS is safe, sound and dry and our team won the gold medal.

What a way to start the day..........now off to virtual Daytona for some fender bashin'

For 928 content; still have the motor mount project to finish but the concrete is a little cool for working on.

I extend my sincere congratulations to all the Canadians who 'helped' their hockey team win the Gold medal today at the 2014 Olympics (I'm sure Malcom was not the ONLY one who 'helped' the team). In addition to that win, the Canadian Women's team won the Gold Medal in hockey. Also, in the game that seems as far removed from hockey as possible - Curling - the Canadian women and the Canadian men also won Gold. The 'double' win in Curling is the first time this has ever occurred, and it may be the same for hockey. WELL DONE good and competitive neighbors! (in those four 'games', the US came away with one Silver Medal!!).

I also want to extend my sincere thanks to all those in Quebec who are associated with, or pay for electricity from Hydro Quebec. On Feb 4th, southeast Pennsylvania was hit with a major snow storm that resulted in loss of electric power for 75% of the residents here in Chester County (we were in the fortunate 25%, but had many friends who were in the 75%). That power was out for anywhere from 2 to 7+ days. Over 100 guys from Hydro Quebec brought trucks and equipment to help our local power company get service restored to the unfortunate people without power for refrigerators/freezers, internet/TV, etc. Driving 16 hours to bring their expertise. But most importantly, many had no way to keep the home heated, do restoration of power before water pipes froze in their houses was critically important.

The generosity and assistance of Hydro Quebec personnel is GREATLY APPRECIATED here in southeast PA.

Cheers mates,

Gary Knox

Congratulations to Canada - they made Sweden look bad even though they won silver.

Default Congratulations!

Malcolm - Congratulations to Canada on double gold in hockey. I thought it was a little discourteous for your national teams to beat USA's teams on successive days. That really was bad form. Sincerely, well done.

For the record: I'd much rather live in Phoenix and not win gold than to have gold and have to put up with your winters! We drive our 928s year-round down here. Sure, you can call to give me grief in August when the temperatures are above 100. I won't mind. The 928's A/C works. (I wouldn't know about the heater; I've never had to use it.)

While it is true we do have a very limited time to enjoy our sports cars we make the best of our winter season by playing and enjoying outdoor sports.

Next weekend the local PCA folks are heading out to a frozen lake and drive the hell out of their cars.......Im seriously thinkin of firing up the S4 but the truck winter wheels don't have the correct offset

Malcolm - you are obviously now a Canadian first and Scottish second! - you prioritized Hockey over getting cold in the garage!

Typical Canadian! - prioritize Hockey over absolutely anything else...

after 32 years Alan Ive now lived in Canada way longer than I was in Scotland.........I have the accent to prove my birth right though

Todays gold medal game was important enough to the country they relaxed the liquor regs to allow the bars and restaurants to open then serve booze at 4:30am.....hockey, beer and bacon what a Sunday!!!

while the 928s sleep through winter we do have lots of places to keep our beer cold!!!......gotta be +ve

Thank you guys for the kind words.

Gary,
Hydro Québec guys are always there to help when needed.
We are lucky to have them here.
Happy to hear that there work is also appreciated over the border.
