Default Any members in the piedmont triad NC AREA? New 928 Enthusiast

Hi forum,

I'm a new member. I have been looking around at the Porsche 928 for over a year now. Locally(piedmknt triad, nc) i have found only seen one listed for sale. It is still available, but I can't get the guy to return my phone calls. I'm looking for someone in the area with a 928 I can lay my hands on, do a ride along, maybe even set in the cockpit to see how I fit. I don't expect to drive your precious, but touch and see if this is the car I think it is. Right now I want one, but really would like to actually set in one without driving 2-3 hrs to find my large head runs the headliner, or my 14 ee shoe won't fit side by side and able to change gears.

size 14s are no problem.....headroom however can be. I am 6ft 4in 350 lbs and have to tilt the seat way back IF the car has a sunroof and most do ! Then my arms are a bit short Mostly depends on how motivated you are to get in there as to whether it "fits" !

Well, I'm 6'4 as well. I was 389 a few years ago, but im heading down the scale. Currently tip the scales at 290
My inseam is 32-34 so im longer in the torso area i guess. Sounds like the sunroof deal might be my problems too. I was afraid of that. Its hard to find one without the sunroof. I have seen a few, not many though.

I am in Winston Salem. I can go pretty easily up to 2 hrs away. Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville for a GTG or other event. Where would i find such a schedule?

Thanks for the replies.

Lots of us around you....most more than happy to let you drive....funny, I call mine "the precious".... Wife calls it the POS....

I'd let you drive mine, but she is in ICU for the time being......

Someone will pop up...few in Winston, Raleigh, Cary, Charlotte...etc.

If you are still looking in June, plan on going to SITM, in banner elk...first weekend...I'm sure a thread will pop up for it....

Here is a link to Hurricane PCA events and the site is currently under construction so all of the events (weekly) are not currently noted... but check the site for other events!

http://hur.pca.org/

In general, every Saturday is a P-car GTG at Jasons Deli (@ Brier Creek Shopping Center) w/ alot of locals P-cars represented and maybe a good turnout of 928 if the weather is nice, BUT the FIRST SATURDAY of the MONTH there is a HUGE Gathering where the local clubs GTG at Cary Waverly Place Shopping Center. Its worth the trip if the weather is fantastic!

I'm in Greensboro. You'll fit-unless it's sport seats...then it might be tough. The brake and gas are close-that'd just have to get used to-but you'll mostly be using the gas...

Definitely look for one with no sun roof. It gives you 2 extra inches of head room at least and you get the added perks of no leaks .

You can also mount the seats an inch or two farther back by adjusting the seat bolts.

You can also adjust the gas pedal to your liking so you can fit your feet.

Good luck on the hunt, find the best one you can, you wont regret it.
