I'm in the middle of replacing the engine in my Audi due to a failed rod bearing. My Dad has been gracious enough to let me borrow his 968 to drive while he and my Mom share her car. Today when I went to start it the starter stayed engaged after the engine fired. I shut off the engine, but the started continued to crank regardless of the key position.

From my research the switch is the same for the 928, but no one has the switch in stock and I can't even get one shipped out until Monday.

Nevermind. Thanks to a PM from sm letting me know that those symptoms can be caused by corrosion on the cables from the battery to the starter and alternator I was able to clean the connections and get everything working properly again.
