Hello! And minor Rant :-(
My name is Brian and I have a Porsche addiction!
It started when I was 16 and bought my first one ('66 912)
I'm 46 now currently have an 07 GT3RS and now a 93 928 5 speed.
I believe including these two my Porsche count over the years total 15 so tounge in cheek I'm addicted!
As some of you have noted over the last few days I just picked up the 928 on Valentines day yesterday(quite the adventure)
The rear tires were bald and needed replacing badly!
I took it to my regular tire shop and they ruined my R rear wheel!
While breaking the bead they managed to put a huge cut into the "wall" of the factory cup wheel!
So the had a chrome Porsche wheel to get me home until we get it sorted out.
What do you think they are sending it to wheel enhancement to fix
Bummed but ecstatic at the same time!

"they" will weld/fill the cut and have it polished, or replace it with a real nice used wheel, and tell you they fixed your wheel.

Factory GTS Cup 1 wheels have notoriously fragile inner rims, which crack with some regularity. The rears (in my experience with 2 different sets) are the ones that crack. Both sets were repaired inexpensively and well.
Since yours is a '93, it likely has RDK sensors, which also (at least in theory) limits the places on the circumference of the rim that they're supposed to break the bead when changing tires. So if they cracked the rim on the _outer_ rim, I'd bet that's what they did wrong.
Wheel enhancement is reasonably well regarded for Porsche wheels, hopefully they know what they're doing with an RDK rim.

Sometimes I wonder about our expectations. 20 year old wheel, state of the art lightweight and made to be used at 150 mph when new, cracks getting 10th or so set of tires put on by cheapest shop labor.
