I honestly can't remember what mine weighs, its still in a panel shop having rust taken out to gain compliance with the NZ authorities. Once its on the road i will take it to a local weigh bridge and find out.

I do not know the answer to that. I only know of what i had.
It was a very good 6 speed Mercedes transmission though w/low range and central locking diff. I sold it or rather gave it away
with around 72k miles and i really used it. No problems with it at all. Great off road and towing as many here already know.
They are so cheap now, if you can find one that was cared for, buy it. Great vehicle.
Rear differential can also be locked. I once towed a stuck Land Rover up an embankment that had a heavy trailer attached to it.
The Cayenne was a beast in low range. I do like that Toureg V10 oil burner too.
Front axle was not technically a differential and did not lock.
I mentioned the MB trans because I thought it was an interesting 928 parallel.
