put a relay in the power line from the battery to the amp. Radio should have a wire that goes hot when you turn the radio on to operate the relay to then provide power to the amp.

Repaired the wire insulation and tested it. All good.

Need to ensure I route this wire correctly this time.

I am wondering if it should go between (1) the heat shield and the mount (pix taken from the rear looking to the front); or (2) between the cross member upper bracket and the fender (pix taken from the front looking to the rear).

Please check these pictures and let me know

I'm not close enoughto the car to get any pix for you. Anybody with pics of this area? The routing is not specific to the years.
