Default R&R 3spd AT cooling hose at the rear Query

I have a weep at the cooling hose connections to the tranny body that I want to fix. The weep is visibly on the hose immediately after the crimped ferrule at the banjo bolt. The short return hose is in hand, but the longer (pressure) hose is NLA, so I will have to get that rebuilt. Can anybody advise if the connection to the steel pipe in the tunnel is readily accessible, or does the exhaust have to be dropped? None of the pictures I can find in the WSM is clear enough to see where the connection is.
Thanks
