The racecar was recoverd yesterday!! Yes!!

I picked it up from the impound yard this morning. There was no damage except a broken hasp.

The police crime unit fingerprint dust is all over the car and trailer, but that is something that I'm not sad to clean up.

Thanks to all for your kind words and suggestions. It will be more stored in a more secure state now!!

I'm amazed the cops took fingerprints. It's almost like... they care that it was stolen and they might... try to catch the thief? Hard to imagine.

Was it found far from where it was stolen?

Great news.

It was recovered about 2 miles from the theft site in the back of an apartment complex. My guess is it wasn't what they were hoping to find so they ditched it. I'm glad that they know how to take wide corners, it is a BIG trailer. Also, if they didn't have an electric trailer brake controller, stopping it would be a real bitch. It weights about 7000 lbs.

good to hear. though sometimes it would have been more enjoyable to hear that a 7000lb trailer just ran over a lowrider pickup trying to tow it... I was always hoping to find my motorbike involved in a single vehicle accident somewhere on the freeway. Alas it was not to be, we found it carefull stashed in a ditch for further joyriding. cops didn't lift a finger on tat one.

Excellent news indeed!
From looking at the Bandito post's over the last 2 - 21/2 years it would seem that there are few enough 928's out there as to make them , well...rare.
The fact that we have a - damn near- 100% recovery rate, with little or no damage to the sHARKs is verging on unbelieveable.
Point of fact, our membership, in the semi-exclusive group of 928 owners,
seems to be vastly more capeable at damaging and destroying these Beaut's than any particular group of wanna=be car thieves and joyriders.
Cops doing their job (or not) almost seems to be a non-issue.
If the word gets out that you are looking for a sHARk... it comes home.
If the bandito realizes he/she has swiped a car that can be easily recognized if for no other reasons than the fact that they are in the realm of uncommon to the point of being rare and lets face it they DO LOOK GOOD
, then they know they have to unload it, baby comes home.
Other than the angst of having your baby kidnapped this seems to be the car to own for peace of mind -electrics not withstanding--.
Again, happy for the recovery. I'm sure you have been rethinking security, though.
Enjoy.
