Default Floor mats

Anyone got a line on floor mats nowadays? Lloyds seem to be about the only game in town that i see. Anything else i'm missing? Living where i do, they won't stay perfect, so i hate to spend too much if they're going to get crapped up and replaced in a couple yrs.

Lloyds are overpriced and dont last. The embroidery sucks and the rear mats dont fit properly. Not worth the trouble.

I have two sets of Lloyd's. They are not cheap, but I wouldn't say the embroidery "sucks." I think they are pretty nice mats, and they have a "stock look" as opposed to the rubber ones. My sets are 7 and 3 years old, respectively, and still look brand-new.

That being said, if anyone knows other manufacturers it would be terrific to know about those as well.

Every once in a while I think about asking our vendors about a set of original factory mats. Just to have on the shelf for show days.

IIRC, both Rob Budd and Paul C. make mats. The can't put the factory logo on them, but there's no reason why they can't put other details in for you. FWIW, my original black mats have "PORSCHE" embroidered in grey thread. Rest of teh interior is cashmere, but that wasn't an option when the car was new.

Can someone post a picture of what the original factory mat looks like?

Try Jager Engineering - They have a cheap custom set that would suffice.

Otherwise 928 Specialists have really nice 2 or 4 mat sets with different embroidery to choose from. Bit mroe expensive but I've always found their products and service excellent.

Actually, just noticed (strange I haven't seen it before) that 928 specialists get their mats from Lloyds also.

How about cocomats?

http://www.cocomats.com/

I have had them in other P-cars and they are durable, well made and have a vintage look. Thinking about them for my 81.

I see SunCoast has factory mats for $159 but their color selection sucks. And, I'd buy from Roger or Mark anyway...

The factory mats are of lesser quality than the Lloyds - poor foam backing that peels of pretty quickly. I have had two sets of Porsche mats returned due to bad quality.
Go with Lloyds from a reliable source such as Rob Budd.
I bought my first set of Lloyds over 10 years ago for my GTS and after a clean they still look like new.
Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

That's what I have in my Guards Red/black 84. I have the black with red dots and I think it looks great in an understated way.

I'll probably be looking to get mats later this year. Are you guys using the Lloyds Ultimat or Luxe mat? That might explain the difference in perception of quality from different forum members.
