Default 1981 5spd for sale $1,500 OBO

Posting this for a friend down here. I have no financial stake in this at all.

1981 928 5spd. Interior in good shape (I can go take photos if requested). Needs fuel system work, belt and water pump service and other work. Car ran rough when driven to the shop, but hasn't been started in months. Owner decided to unload the car.

Located in Gordonsville VA at Overstreet European Motors. Also has original phone dial wheels that are in good shape. $1500 OBO with the phone dials.

Car has clear title.

If interested, PM me for the seller's contact info.

phenomenal price for a non total basket case 5 speed! I bought my 5 speed in a LOT worse shape than that for 2500$ last year

no clutch, fuel leaks, exhaust leaks, no brakes and interior in boxes (with parts missing!)

Looks like someone is going to get a smoking hot deal if this pans out.

Someone grab it. It is sitting at my friend's shop. Just wants it to go away. It's a good deal for someone who can do the repairs themselves.

Got several PM's about it. Responded in the order they were received. Going to take interior shots this morning on my way to my office and will post them later.

Yes. It's a Merkur. The one the guys on the U.S. version of Top Gear used in an episode. A guy who writes for Jalopnik bought it.

The last Merkur I saw was at the ChumpCar race at Michigan International in 2012 running very well
with the favored 325's at the time and painted in the MAC Tools theme. The cool thing about that car was that they used a rear window off another car that had the defrost elements in it.

Yeah, I read that story. I hope he's having success with it.
