Question Mystery connector in dash

I was just rummaging around behind the pod to figure out why my speedo just went intermittent (I get good sender signal all the way to the cruise so its wiring related) and found a stray connector. It is a round 4 prong thing, like the ones that plug into the back iof the switches for lights, fog lights, and the trip odometer. It is set up in the harness on the left hand side of the dash, so it would have to go to something over there.

Anyone know what it is for? Is this just built into the harness for some Euro option? I don't like finding unplugged wires/connectors.

That's for the rear fog light switch. In Europe it goes where the odometer reset button is, and the reset button is a small button under the pod.

If you look on the other side of the pod, you'll most likely find two small loose connectors for the high intensity washer, which is also a small button under the pod in cars so equipped.

Thanks PorKen,

That explains it. Actually what you find under the dash on the other side is the hole where I just removed the h.i. washer switch. The PO had played with the wiring there and had broken off one of the connectors. New switch is on order and may work pretty well now that I removed the string I found in the tank h.i. tank.

On the drivers side, there are also 2 brown and 2 brown/white striped wires disconnected and taped together. I think that may be from the original factory alarm which was replaced by the PO. He put in an after market alarm that was ripped out by yours truly.

This is like archeology :-).

I don't know what those unfinished wires are for, but mine has them too!
