It was fun for us at the time Dave. My friend was a tow truck driver so he found us all kinds of cars to play with for free. We found the vids were way more popular if people got upset and started to argue about them, it was free publicity, think if it as a business to make money not a tv show.
Imo, CBC only told half the story about him, they never said anything about his mental health issues and him not being held mentally responsible for a lot of what he did. That's why the police were always after something to get him in jail with. He was also under investigation from the us boarder security and the FBI as a terrorist training camp, they also never said anything about him renting his place out as a nudist retreat.
Believe me I am not defending him in anyway he did some strange/bad things. I never saw anything personally. I'm just saying the things that were said about him were very bias and half truths as media always is. He was independently wealthy way before youtube and still has way more money than you and I will ever see.
We found him getting stranger and stranger as time went by. Way to much drinking and drugs, I rarely drink and have never done drugs, so that's not my thing at all. Then doing more and more dangerous things with no thoughts to safety. The final winabago jump was just to crazy we warned them to be careful. We told them to gutt the inside, but that was to much work they said. The upper bunk crushed the drivers spine when it landed. It should have been removed.
I think back now and realize that he was probably not taking his meds either.
Did I have fun when I was out there I have to say yes. Would I go back out there again? probably not things were getting way to out of hand for me ....

The crowd here is pretty uppity for this kind of ****ery. The "wine and cheese" crowd, and that's cool too.

Jesus - I just googled that *******, and there is a vid of somebody with a chain saw decapitating a pig. If this is what that sick bastard and anyone who associates or associated with him considers good fun, then I don't want to have anything to do with any of them. I always thought those 928 farm trash vids were akin to car snuff videos - the same mentality. Seeing that horrible pig vid make me sick, and to defend that physcopath is abhorent.

Linder get your facts straight the pig was killed for a pig roast in the same humane way your butcher does, it was shot in the head with a rifle. Then there no real difference between a chain saw or the band saw your butcher uses either. The only difference is you get to see everything that's done in the real world that you don't want to see. Where do you think your food comes from?

You guys just don't get it...... every time someone watches these videos we make more money, this is exactly the reason we did them the way we did. If the pig video was not done in a legal and humane way it would have been removed from Canadian content. All the hating and bitching just makes us more money keep up the good work people....

Very much so - and killed in a very inhumane way - like an animal snuff film - it was a short clip that populated without clicking on a link. Guy holds down the squirming pig and buzzes thru its neck. Pigs legs keep kicking after head is severed; It was posted purely for entertainment purposes. Sick and twisted the way it comes across.

I know how my food is made; I hunt. Unlike our Ontario friends, I actually respect the animals and the process used to make my food.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he did a year for video taping his teenage son beating off. How F'd up is that? Metal health or not.....there is no excuse or fogiveness from me when it comes to sexual abuse of children. You can do the time and be free in the eye of the law but not to me. I will not forgive to anyone doing this...EVER! I was a fan of his car stunt video until these stories surfaced. He seems like a very good mechanic but what he did makes this irrelevant.

Imo, we, like you, didn't find out about the bad things till after, we had decided he was a little to dangerous for my friends and I to continue going out there. We had not been associated with him for over a year before that stuff came out. He had other run ins with the law that we didn't like either. Plus there was all the drugs and drinking that we weren't into. That was a long time ago for me. I am on to bigger and better things now.

Pretty surprising this is the first time the backstory on that video has come up on RL after all this time. I've seen it plenty of times through the years and always wondered "who the hell are those rednecks?"... never would have guessed they were Canucks.

Just saw that pig snuff vid (easy to find). Arguable whether it was dead or not, but yeah that's pretty sick ****. I still wouldn't be too quick to tar tailpipe without knowing him... a lot of people I'm sure on this board included have at some point hung out with the wrong crowd.

Six figure income off those youtube videos, are you sure Dave wasn't just making that up to justify all the hijinks and guarantee his entourage? I get well over a million youtube video plays monthly which nets around 400 bucks. Youtube monetization is crap. Maybe pig snuff videos pay more...

That is what he says happened. When you consider the age of consent in Canada was 14 at the time I am sure it was worse than his version. If he saw jail time in Canada it was bad.

I know of a case that someone was accused of molestation and the guy admitted molesting a total of 3 girls and didn't see any jail time just counselling/probation.

I have zero issue with Tailpipe, we met before on an RL fall run several years ago. I got no issues with the 928 video either. My beef is with Dave Rock the video clip owner.

There's other videos that show and describe shooting the pig in the brain with a rifle before the chainsaw part.

The movement was just normal nerve activity.

I'm not defending the guy by any means, just pointing out that conclusions should be made after reviewing all the facts.
