Default My new shop for my toys..oh and a new toy

It has been a while since I have posted. I recently finished restoring my 86 928 right before Frenzy but it messed up the morning on the trip so I have to wait until next year to show it off. Last month I was searching on cars.com and found an 86.5 in Danbury CT that I decided to buy for parts. Car arrived yesterday and man is it rough. May play around with it for a while to see if I can make a driver out of it. It's green with cream and brown interior, 142k miles, auto, LSD, and rust.

The bigger news is I moved out of a subdivision into the "country". Went from a 1/3 acre to 7.5. The deal maker was the man cave potential. It had a five bay detached garage with full kitchen, bath, and Landry room. One bay was oversized with heat and AC......which is were my shop is. The other four bays actually will hold 6 cars if I run two cars longways. It also has a 25x27 room to hang out in.

I have spent three weeks painting with kilz and paint due to the previous owners major smoking habit ( not knocking cause I did for 15 years) but man can it stink up a place. I had a lift installed last week and finally feel like its what I have dreaming of since I bought my 928 ten years ago.

I plan to have a get together with local Porsche owners sometime in the spring. My only issue right now is having a gravel driveway that's a 1/4 mile long. I think that would turn a few people off.

Anyway. Here are some pics. If you are in charlotte, look me up....if you need a lift. It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Jeff.

Very sweet, indeed.

As for a gravel drive, many of those great houses, chateaux, schlossen, und so weiter have gravel driveways, courtyards and stable blocks.

Porsche automobiles, particularly their cost-no-object supercar GT, were made for people with places like that.

Great place! You should be on Garage Journal if you're not there already- lots of Porsche guys there, and great shop ideas. I get down to Hickory every now and then, maybe could drop by...

Nice Jeff. Congratulations. I will be breaking ground on my garage in a few weeks. Very nice space you have there.

Wow Jeff so very jealous, and at the same time I am glad to see a dream come, well actually it would be my dream. You made it come through.

I think I need to retry my luck with a lottery ticket.

Well Done Jeff.
