Can't fight fate
Hey guys,
Just reminiscing on my short (2 yr) 928 ownership and can't help but think this car was made for me. My home address is 9828 (close enough) when I bought tags for the car, I was debating on Air Force Tags ( which I would have gotten at a discount) or my College Tags. I just asked the lady to see what the school tags would look like. She raised the next one to be handed out & it was # 1987. My car is a 1987 (freaky). See my pre purchase post below:
Hi gang. I'm considering buying a 1987 S4 with 98k miles. It's a two owner car with 2nd owner having it since 1989. It has been sitting for years, only driven < 10K miles since 1998. Owner has spent about $14k in repairs since 98. Repair shop states, it sits for a couple of years, he brings it in for repair to sell it, we repair it & he falls in love with it again and keeps it. TB changed in 2007, don't see WP replacement. HVAC changed to 134. No mention of cambelt change. Are those normally changed with TB? All fluids changed may of this year.
I Pugh that there to show how far mechanically I've come with y'all's help. Notice I say the TB was changed but no mention of cam belt change...LMAO! Since then I've done MM, TB/WP, wheel bearings, odometer fix, vacuum actuators, etc, etc...
Could not have done it without you guys. I learn every time I get on this forum, which is several time per day.
I watched this car for 2 years before I pulled the trigger. Keep the knowledge flowing.
