Can someone check this VIN number for me?:
WPO777(or ZZZ?)927DS860712 (I was not very clear)

I just picked this one up in the Netherlands. It is an Automatic S3 1983.

The car was exported back to Germany and ended up as a project in Holland. It sat for several years, 5 at least
I was able to start the engine by spraying Brake parts cleaner in the intake.

Assuming the last 6 digits have been read correcctly.. you're looking at the wrong VIN tag - there should be one on the side of the windshield with this VIN on it, as the only VIN's ending in 86xxxx are North American cars.

WP0JB0928DS860712
1983
928
C03 - California delivery
M28.20
A28.01 - only 4 gears

027 Version for California
438 Comfort seat right
455 Wheel locks
468 Graduated tint windshield, green side glass
476 Brake pad with abrasive pad
484 Symbols for controls
650 Sunroof

If the car doesn't have the USA-style side marker lights, has no sunroof, and the car isn't Right-hand drive, the VIN could be this?

WP0ZZZ92ZDS841712

409 Sport seats left and right leather
454 Automatic speed control
455 Wheel locks
487 Connection for fog headlamp with parking light
489 Symbols and insignia in German

Got myself a 1980 928S a few weeks ago but can't find any history on it except it was repainted Midnight Blue in 1994. All stickers are gone.
Believe the car came from UK in 1989 (now in Thailand).

Possible to get any info from my VIN?

Hilton,

Thanks,

I will check again and I'll check the windshield VIN tag too.
