There's something funky about this VIN number, the '2' in the 13th position would suggest it's a US model early '93. But I'm guessing you're talking about the 1st ROW model GTS, WP0ZZZ92ZNS800061?

If so:

WP0ZZZ92ZNS800061

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=WP0ZZZ92ZNS800061

1992
C00 - German market
M28.50 - engine serial # range 81N 50501>60000
A28.18 - transmission serial # range 81N 50501>60000

IXX8 - GTS rear fenders
I139 - Adjustable Seat Heating - Left
I208 - Trailer coupling
I570 - Rear AC
M650 - Sunroof

Which is the weirdest combination of options I've ever seen on a GTS.

Question

it's really strange - this car belongs to a friend of mine
the VIN stamped at the chassis is exactly what I wrote in my 1st post, - it's the same that the official papers show (something like the Certificate of Title)
but the sticker looks a little different:

the car has rear sidespots an the US rear view mirror, but everything else looks like German market ???
Maybe you could try to encode the VIN on the sticker, too ?

thank you so far!!

Great !
This car has the 12th 1992 928 body, but the VIN is really strange. It has a US equipment but was delivered in Germany.
Manual GTS.

Could-you, please ask for the engine and gearbox number? It should be interesting.

Ok, here is what I can tell:
Indischrot car with a leatherette black interior, seats in leather with multicolor Black on Black cloth seats and door inserts.

Equipment:
XX8: GTS rear fenders
I331: Radio Porsche CR-1
I498: Without rear model designation
I570: Rear AC
M650: Sunroof

And this car was delivered to Porsche AG.

Does your friend have the warranty booklet, or any trace of the original registration?
Any picture of the interior, also?

This may be the first US GTS, by far.
It was also maybe used for official pictures, or booklets.

What is the first registration date?

he doesn't have the original booklet or paperwork, but his registration paper says that it was 1st registered on December 22, 1992
